Associate with Gloucestershire Psychology Services
I am a HCPC Registered Psychologist offering psychological therapy to adults online. I have over 15 years’ experience supporting people facing distress and navigating the lasting impact of difficult or significant life experiences. My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood and able to work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Individual Psychological Therapy Sessions
I work with people experiencing anxiety, overthinking, stress and burnout, low self-esteem and self-doubt, relationship difficulties, low mood, and the emotional impact of difficult or distressing life experiences. I draw on evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, and CFT tailoring therapy to your individual needs. I aim to help you make sense of what has happened, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop greater self-compassion and a stronger sense of connection with yourself.
Specialist Interests
I have a particular interest in trauma and the impact of difficult or distressing past experiences on the present. This includes experiences that may continue to affect how you feel, think, relate to others or respond to situations, even when they happened some time ago. I also have a specific interest in birth trauma. Birth can be experienced as traumatic for many different reasons, and its impact can sometimes be difficult to talk about or understand. Not every birth experience that leaves a lasting emotional or psychological impact will be described or labelled as ‘birth trauma’, and you do not need to identify with that label for your experience to have affected you. If your birth experience has continued to affect how you feel, think, relate to yourself or others, or experience life after birth, it is worthy of being explored and understood. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore these experiences and, where appropriate, use EMDR and other evidence-based approaches to support processing and recovery.
Next steps
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, particularly when you are already feeling overwhelmed or unsure about what you need. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with and connected to is also an important part of the process. I aim to make this as supportive and straightforward as possible, taking time to understand what feels right for you.
